Welp. I’m officially that mom. You know the one who dresses her kid up, straps-em in the car seat and drives to the nearest bunch of Bluebonnets she can find. Poor Allison. Last year the bluebonnets died before she was born so I jumped at the chance to take “traditional” Texan photos of her in a bunch of ‘very pretty’ weeds! Not gonna lie…it was better than I imagined. But rest assured, I DID NOT pull over on the side of the busy interstate to take the pictures. We went to my grandparents house, where the food is delicious and bluebonnets thrive.

This picture makes me LAUGH! She’s such a ham.

Allison with her great grandparents and her cousin Kensley!

Love, Love, Love my sweet girl!

Weekend Getaway!

I survived. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I had anticipated but I made it through my first weekend away from Allison. Charles and I finally got to take our anniversary trip that we had to postpone due to Allison getting sick. We had so much fun just ‘catching up’ and spending some quality time together.  Allison got to spend lots of quality time with her grammy (my mom) and I hear she was a perfect little angel. Um…Duh She’s my kid! 😉

Saturday night after Charles got off of work, we headed to Austin to the Intercontinental Hotel. It was pretty swanky, not worth the $300/night price tag in my opinion but thankfully we got it for FREE and it ended up being quite lovely. The Intercontinental hotel is located in the heart of Austin on Congress street, steps away from the Capitol. As you can imagine fancy restaurants on every corner and well, we ended up at a pizzeria. So us.

We did a little bit of window shopping the next morning during our hunt for coffee and came across this precious little red car. I’m pretty sure if Allison were old enough to actually use it Charles would have bought it for her. She’s so spoiled.

photo 1We had breakfast at the Magnolia Cafe before heading to Canyon Lake. I can’t forget to mention the Migas Charles had at breakfast…he loves migas and quite liked theirs. If you’re ever in the mood for breakfast and end up in downtown Austin, I highly recommend the Magnolia Cafe.

As we headed out of Austin we made a few pit stops on the way to Canyon Lake, obviously we had to stop at Super Target and Cabela’s. We even got to see “Winnie-The-Pooh”. We are so easily entertained, we may go back  to take Allison to see the animals.

We also couldn’t leave without getting Allison this adorable little Chocolate Lab. Isn’t he cute? Want to know what makes him even cuter? He doesn’t pee on my floors!

I tried really hard to get Charles to buy me an Uncle Si action figure. Apparently I’m not a child and don’t need awesome toys anymore.

Our forth or fifth pit stop of the day, I lost count by this point, was to Wimberly. Such a cute little town with shops and yummy frozen yogurt.

And now the highlight of the trip…. The Tiny Texas House! Isn’t it adorable! I’m so glad I returned the hammock I bought Charles for our anniversary once I found this little gem. I highly HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway. They are called The Homestead Cottages! Super cozy and quaint and the perfect little hideout from our busy lives. photo 5 photo 1 (1) photo 3 (1)photo 2 (1)

I would call our first weekend away from Allison a success on both venue, company and the fact I didn’t cry. Score.

Our Weekend in Pictures

With Christmas almost here and the cooler weather here to stay I thought I’d do another one of our “Mama + Mini” Posts to go along with our Weekend in Pictures!

Mama & Mini

Baseball Tee | Scarf | Vest | Jean Jacket | Polka Dot One Piece | Gray One Piece | Hello Sweatshirt

I just ordered this baseball tee from American Eagle and I’m patiently waiting for it to arrive. I’m pretty obsessed with scarves right now too. That’s probably only because it’s like a freaking meat locker in my office at wor

Yummy Spaghetti O’s and Sprinkle Cheese. She’s a girl after my own heart…once I put the cheese on them she annihilated them!

Crap everywhere.

photo 1

We really really need to lower her crib mattress soon, she is starting to pull up and stand in her crib. She also must think the crib rails taste good too, or she’s trying to kick a smoking habit.

I love how Charlotte is watching over her! What a good kitty!

Also, crap still everywhere. Oh well she had fun, that’s all that matters.

photo 5

Snack time! She loves cheese and crackers. She also has this thing going on where she continually is missing one sock.  I have no idea where they go to half of the time.

photo 3

She still likes the box it came in better than the actual toy!

photo 4

Shopping for Groceries! I She was super excited about these baby bananas! No more wasting big ones!

We hope you all had a great weekend!  We were missing daddy but had a great time snuggling and NOT cleaning the house!

Our Weekend in Pictures

Another weekend has come and gone. Our little Allie-baba, as daddy is now calling her, will be 7 months old tomorrow. Where has the time gone? We had a relatively productive/relaxing weekend…it doesn’t feel like it right now. I can barely keep my eyes open. Boo. Oh well…this kid is STILL rocking the push ups. She kills me…she’s so adorable. Thankfully the rain passed before the weekend and we were able to get some much-needed vitamin D. Allie played with her princess ducky and daddy roasted coffee and me I just got to be with them. The only thing that could have made it even better was if Charles had been off.

Saturday night we had the pleasure of having our friends, Ashley, Zach, and this little stud-muffin Jameson come over for dinner and playdate. Isn’t he the cutest? He’s about 6 weeks older than Allison and boy what a difference those 6 weeks make. He is army crawling all over the place. I think I see a theme here…push ups and army crawling. A match made in heaven!

Sunday, since Daddy was working, Allison and I decided to hit up the corn-maze again. This time it was actually cool outside and felt like fall. Allison had her first experience on the ‘cow train’ and needless to say she loved it. She giggled a few times. Lots of snuggles, hugs and kisses from the whole family. cowtrain cuties

Daddy got to come during his lunch/dinner break! It was awesome. We hate when daddy has to work but knows he does it so we can have the blessed life we do. Thanks daddy for all you do! 🙂 We love you!  Of course Allison was passed out by the time he got there and slept the whole time. Sleepy baby. On a side note, Allison is a rock-star. After our dinner on Saturday, she went to bed at 7:30PM, slept till 5:30 to eat and was back asleep by 6:30AM and slept till 9:30. Sweet Baby Jesus sleeping in felt good. I don’t think I’ve slept past 6:30AM-7AM since before she was born.  Suck it daylight savings.

Doesn’t she look so cool in her sunglasses? I’m surprised she kept them on the whole time (like an hour). Again, rock star.

Couldn’t resist adding another picture of this cute little man! Oh and how precious is that picture of Allison and her Grammy (my mom)? Too Cute for Words that’s what!

fun oldies

We hope you all have a great week and adjust to the new time as quickly as we did! Happy Monday!

Our Weekend In Pictures

I’m happy to say that we had a very relaxing and boring weekend! We did venture out on Saturday to have lunch with Lydia, Abigail & Ensley. Allison got a taste of her first french fry…she liked loved it. Go figure.  I did find out that although she’s a champ when it comes to shopping (no whining or fussing) she is  not amused by it.

photo 1

She does however LOVE to go on walks. Can’t you tell!? She makes my heart happy, especially since she enjoyed herself.  Riding it hard work though, power napping at it’s finest.

photo 2 photo 4

A little Winnie-the-Pooh while mom makes dinner…don’t mind if I do.  Look at her impeccable posture…now if only I could sit up that straight.

photo 3

Since it’s the week of Halloween, I decided Allison should wear a Halloween themed outfit everyday this week. This morning was her witches hat, ‘my first Halloween’ onesie & cute little ruffled leggings. Charlotte thought her hat/headband was rather interesting. She’s such as creepy ass cat. I kept waiting for her to bat it off her head.

I can hardly wait for Thursday to show off her precious costume!

Happy Halloween-Eve-Eve-Eve! Meow!

Our Weekend in Pictures

On Friday, Allison and I decided to surprise Erin and watch her show her steer for the last time at the fair. It was a lot of fun and Allison got to see a variety of animals she wouldn’t normally get to see. Of course she wasn’t in a smiley sort of mood for pictures.  She really liked the goats and even managed to grab one’s fur.  Poor little goat. She even got her picture taken with Miss. Texas America. Daddy says she’s not allowed to do pageants…we’ll see about that. 😉

babe collage

Allison with her Grammy & Pawpaw. That’s a yawn, although I like to think she’s just so excited about seeing cows!

Sunday morning, Erin & I did the Graffiti Run.  I for sure thought someone would be calling Charles and telling him that I’m laying on the ground gasping for air, but  we freaking rocked the run. Just saying… I even managed to make it out without that much color on me. Oh AND we had Fuego after. Sunday morning = success!

The rest of the weekend, we just  relaxed at home, which we don’t get to do very often. I’ve decided I’m a terrible mother, Allison figured out how to play a game for cats on the iPad.  She now holds to high record on “Friskies Bug Catcher” App. We hope you all had a great weekend and we look forward to sharing our house photos this week. Since this past weekend was the six month mark for us moving into our new home, we thought we’d give you a tour.
