Wow. I can’t believe a year has passed since our sweet baby girl has come into this world. It’s been a roller coaster of sleepless nights, unimaginable love, and the sweetest girl I’ve ever met. We are so lucky!
We started off the day with this little mound of heaven. She was so dainty when picking out her doughnut…eating it on the other hand…she was not.
For her first birthday I wanted something very simple yet timeless, so we went with the theme “Our Little Love is Turning One”! The main colors were pink and gold and I would say it turned out beautiful!
I made all of the decorations by hand, and at times I wanted to throw in the towel and buy princess themed crap from Target, but I prevailed! lol
I wanted to incorporate a way for all of our family to leave Allison a note of ‘well wishes’ or hopes for her next year of life. I had an extra canvas lying around so I thought I’d have everyone sign their names and write a little note. It’s now hanging up in her playroom. 🙂
The picture garland was by far my most favorite decoration…one picture from every month. It was so awesome to see how she’s changed over the past 12 months!
All in all I think her birthday was absolutely beautiful!
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
Merry Christmas!! We have had a busy couple of days and needless to say we are all pooped, but our hearts are full! Yesterday we went back home to visit our families. Charles and I were very excited to spend Christmas day at home with our cute little babe! We enjoyed watching her eat all the wrapping paper and bows. She’s still a little young to fully understand but it was still just as magical! Can’t wait for next year to when she’ll be a little more into unwrapping EVERY present!
Christmas Eve Activities:
Huntin’ for a Christmas Tree with the Free family
Presents at Grandma Annie and the Darby family
Christmas Day Magic
Christmas Reindeer Pancakes for Breakfast!
Allison’s favorite part of opening presents…eating the paper.
Playing with her new toys!
Opening Presents is HARDDDDD work!
Third Christmas of the Season!
We hope your Christmas was as magical as ours!
Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Since I’ve been doing a terrible job of making sure we did all of our advent calendar activities these are the last two I will post about!
We went and had frozen yogurt at Spoons! Allison loved it but wasn’t so sure about how cold it was! She would make this adorable little face and then immediately want more. Silly girl.
We also made cookies for Santa after we got frozen yogurt!
Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
Since I got off of work early today, Allison and I popped on over to Brenham to help my grandparents get their house ready for all of the Christmas festivities next weekend! Allison had a blast! She played with their puppy Cooper and slobbered on all of the lower part of the Christmas tree!
Best present under the tree!
December 10th: Walk around the Neighborhood and Look at Christmas Lights
Cute little Snuggle Muffin!
December 11th: Make up Day– Visit Santa (Worst Santa Ever)
First off, Allison was so tired. Secondly, Allison knows how to look at the camera better than Santa. We had to take literally 20 pictures just to get this mediocre one. Oh well…at least she didn’t cry.
I know I’m biased but She really is the cutest!
December 12th: Play with Christmas Lights
I plan on doing a better ‘photo shoot’ of her in her jammies and I “HEART” Santa outfit but these were for fun!
Happy Friday!! More activities to come this weekend!
I am so incredibly behind with posting our advent calendar activities. A couple of the activities we had to post-pone due to the weather. We are planning on taking Allison to see Santa either tomorrow or Thursday! I hope she doesn’t freak out!
December 3rd: Deck the Halls
I love the Christmas holiday and decided that since it was Allison’s first Christmas we needed to make it even more special aka: more work for mom. I used ornaments from last year to make twine Christmas ornaments. Our theme is “A Very Rustic Christmas”. I think what we have so far turned out excellent. There are still quite a few more projects I want to do so hopefully I’ll get to them all before Christmas!
December 4th: Make an Ornament
We attempted to make a cute star ornament out of twigs but Allison decided she would rather crush the sticks. We got a few pictures of her working on the star before it became a heaping pile of sticks.
I didn’t have the energy to redo it since we . So we just won’t have them this Christmas.
December 5th: Read a Christmas Book
December 6th: Make a Christmas Card
We decided to make a Christmas card for Charles’ grandma who is in the hospital. Someone liked helping mommy cut out the ‘hand’tlers! What a little cutie!
December 7th: Go See Santa
We had to post-pone due to bad weather!
December 8th: Visit a Live Nativity
We have to come up with a different activity since there wont’ be another live nativity in the area this year. Dang freezing weather!
December 9th: Have Hot Chocolate
Charles has had Hot Chocolate every night this week. I think he likes it!
Day two of our advent calendar family activity was to watch a Christmas Movie. Thankfully CBS had a bunch of Christmas movies playing so we were able to choose from a pretty big selection. We decided to watch “The Flight Before Christmas” . It was a super cute movie about a young reindeer, Niko, who left his heard to search for his father who was allegedly one of Santa’s reindeer. Although Allison LOVES TV she definitely was in a special mood last night and wasn’t into really watching the movie. We were together and that’s all that matters!
Charlotte has made her permanent place under the Christmas Tree. She was getting ready to turn in for the night…notice the start of the *yawn*.
